Leave Your Dental Fear Behind

Afraid or had bad experiences? Looking for sedation dentistry in Bakersfield? We offer all sedation options from nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation to IV sedation dentistry

Based on past experiences, some patients have been traumatized by previous dental treatments and have stopped seeking dental care because they are fearful of their next dental appointment. Even when faced with significant dental pain, many patients will put off dental care until it becomes so severe that they have no choice. This delay of treatment puts not only the patient’s dental health at risk but can lead to even more serious medical problems like a fast spreading infection or damage to vital organs like the heart. Sedation dentistry is a wonderful option for patients who have dental fears, an overactive gag reflex, or just want to get a lot of dental work done in one or two visits. There are many forms of sedation available at our office. If you are interested in learning more about sedation, you’ll want to come in for a consultation with Dr. Dimitri Salin, who can go over your dental procedures and medical history, and help you to decide which type of sedation is right for you.

Plain Facts About Sedation Dentistry

Sedation dentistry in Bakersfield at Salin Dentistry is a perfect way to go. Quality dental care with no pain.

Sedation will give you the opportunity to get your dental work done while completely comfortable and relaxed. Here at Salin Dentistry, we use nitrous oxide, oral sedation or IV sedation. So no matter what your fears, we will be able to provide a safe and relaxed atmosphere. You will not be “knocked out”, but you will be conscious and responsive. Although you will be sleepy and relaxed, you will be able to tell us your needs and wants. Someone will be with you at all times and we will monitor your progress all along the way. The sedatives we use will be amnestic, which will leave you with little or no memory of your dental experience. You will continue to be relaxed throughout the rest of the day and we ask that you have someone drive you to and from your visit to our office for your safety.

"Some Ask Why Sedation Dentistry?"

Quality sedation dentistry and oral sedation in Bakersfield will relax you enough that you will actually enjoy your visit.

"Does the idea of having your teeth cleaned make your entire body tense and fearful? Would you rather have all the pain of a toothache than sit in a dentist’s chair? Don’t worry, you are not alone. There are many people that have a real phobia of going to a dentist’s office, who prefer to have no treatment at all. I can assure you, if you avoid the dentist like the plague, sedation dentistry is the answer for you. Sedation can be used for something as simple as a dental cleaning or for more invasive procedures like root canals or dental implant placement. We have three types of sedation. First, nitrous oxide helps you relax, while we control the amount of sedation you receive. Next, is oral sedation, which can range from minimal to moderate. Lastly, we use IV moderate sedation, which will relax you enough that it is common to not remember your treatment. Call us, we can help."
